Long time no write......

måndag 1 oktober 2007

My last post was that I became an aunt. Now I have finally seen the little miracle. Two weeks ago I took a trip to Stockholm to see her and the rest of the family I have up there. She is so cute, as you can see.....

A happy family....

tisdag 7 augusti 2007

To "all" my swedish readers.
I was very impressed with Mick Jagger's swedish, I found this one clip where he is saying something that kinda made me laugh. Can you hear what he is saying?

"Jag har skitkul" (and so did we)

9.46 Pm on Friday the 3rd of August......

.......BOOM!

IF YOU START ME UP, IF YOU START ME UP I'LL NEVER STOP......

57 000 people.

Fireworks, smoke....

A harmonica, Midnight Rambler, yelling fans.

A singing Keith, I wanna Hold You, a guitarr.

Something is moving, Satisfaction, I got it.

The stage is back, Paint it Black, a big red tounge.

Jumping Jack Flash, so is everyone.

One more time......Brown Sugar, sooo sweet.......BOOM!

Vacation

I just had two weeks vacation, it was wonderful.
Aleks and I spent the first week in the northern part of Norway (Tromsö and Narvik), visiting family.
We were well taken care of by my aunts and cousins on both my mom and my dads side.

We ate great food and just relaxed. It was so nice to get away for a little bit and to be able to show Aleks where my parents are from.

I also got to see my "bestefar" (my moms dad) wich I'm really glad I did. It was a bit difficult to see him in the state he was in now, always remembering him being a big and strong man and seeing him now, laying in a bed at a nursing home. I am glad I got to talk to him though and to kinda say goodbye. Even though he didn't look the same as he used to it was still the same voice that came out when he spoke. That felt good.

The secon part of my vacation I spent fixing some stuff at home, I painted in the living room and we got new curtains.
We also had some improvements done to the outside of the house. We built a deck in the back and fixed our porch in the front.
It's going to look really good once we get some paint on things.

Wedding

Last weekend my cousin Thomas married his Louise in a beautiful ceremony in Skt. Ansgar Kirke in Copenhagen.
After the ceremony it was cake and champagne in the churh garden followed by a wonderful dinner and party that lasted until about 3 am (for us), the happy couple was still going
strong when we left.

Best of luck, and thank you for including us on your day!

Another Prison Break?

onsdag 18 april 2007
If you are following Prison Break on Swedish TV you might not want to read this...

Prison Break just finished it's second season. Season three will be back this fall and it seems like it will be another "prison break".
It's going to be interesting to see where they are going to go next.
Personally I think they should have ended it after season two, they have already broken out once..... but I do love the show and Fox have kept me on my toes every episode so far so I'm sure they will do the same for next season.

At least I hope so.....

Pan Man and his aide continue through the white corridors of the facility. The aide states, “Scofield back in the pen. Got to be honest, didn’t think we were ever going to see it happen.” They approach a door where to soldiers stand guard. They salute General Pad Man as he opens the door. The aide adds, “You know he’s going to break out. It’s in his blood.” The General looks back, “That’s exactly what we want him to do.” The men pull up their surgical masks and enter a room full of caged animals.

Texas/Oklahoma Jan. 2006

lördag 17 mars 2007
So Aleks and I took a little vacation and went to U.S.A. for two weeks to see family.

We first spent some time in Fort Worth with Aleks' dad (who flew in from California), his wonderful aunt Carol and two(of his three) cousins.
Then we went up to Enid, Oklahoma to spend some time with Aleks' mom (who also flew in from California) and his grandmother (who flew in from Las Vegas). Aleks grandmother has a house in Enid. Aleks' uncle Bill and wife Pat lives in Enid so I got a chance to meet them for the first time. I also got to meet Aleks' other uncle, Randy, who lives in Dallas.

We had such a great time. It was so nice to see everybody and I just want to say thank you for letting me in to your lives. I love you all.

Weather

måndag 15 januari 2007

It has pretty much been raining everyday for the last 3 months, but
yesterday it didn't rain, instead there was a storm. We had winds up to 30- 35 km/h ( at least it didn't rain:).
In the morning when I was going to work I was contemplaiting wheather I should drive or not.
I decided to take the bus and tram (I'm glad I did).
The wind pretty much carried me all the way to the bus stop (I don't think I've ever made it there that fast). The bus ride was fine, then I switched to the tram. Everything was fine until we came to the bridge that connects us to the main land. The wind gusts were so strong that the doors kept flying open. The driver nicely asked everyone to help out to keep the doors shut until we had crossed the bridge. So there we were standing holding the doors, it must have looked kind of funny.
Well I made it to work in one piece and so did everyone else.
The guests must have listened to the warnings though ( not to go out if can be avoided), we had the slowest day I have ever experienced there. It was really boring but nice in a way, nice with a little break.

New Years Eve 2006

tisdag 2 januari 2007
So New Years wasn't really that exciting. My husband and I both worked, at least we worked together.
Right after midnight the Assistant GM of the restaurant came down with champagne to all of us in the kitchen, which was very nice. We had a quick toast and then continued the cleaning of the kitchen.
It was a very good night though, a packed restaurant (twice) with lots of happy and satisfied guests.
Happy New Year everyone and Best Wishes for 2007
